A Viking Journey

Teaser Poster for a Motion Graphics project from school.
We were required to choose a movie and make a video based on it.
I chose DreamWork's "How To Train Your Dragon"
I wrote a rhyme to be appearing in the video.

once upon a time,

there was a *boy* viking
he wanted to become a *great* viking,
but his viking-*ness* was so viking-*less*,
he sometimes seemed like a pest to the rest...

this boy wanted to hunt dragons,
and take his place among the best.
everyone treated his wish like jargon,
but the boy never let his desire rest.

he once caught a mighty beast
"the unholy offspring of death and night"
and even if at first he thought it a mighty feat
he discovered he could not take the dragon's life.

so he set the creature free,
and with it he began to learn,
to see thing the rest didn't see,
he discovered why he was born.

among the great ancestors
of more than 300 years before
this boy became the 1st protector
of a greater dragon lore.
And used the original music for the video.
I even created a font to use in the video, named it Square Vikings.
I made it available for personal and commercial use.
The poster was done in Adobe Photoshop CS5
Drawings that appear in the video were done in Adobe Illustrator CS5
Motion Graphics done in Adobe Motion Graphics CS5
Font was created with FontLab
