Heliotrope

Collage of an abstract representation of the greek myth behind the sun flower.
A girl was inlove with the sun god, and all day she would gaze at his beauty as he did the day-ly run through the skies. He would not notice her ever and so the girl became sad and wanted to do nothing else but to gaze at him, to see if one day he would turn his eyes to hers. The gods to pitty on her and turned her into a sunflower, so she could follow him trhough all eternity, this is why the sunflower follows the sun, and hangs its head at night time(that was the short version). I like this myth, so for my art project(got to many of those don't I?) I did a collage about it, I used eyes to make the center of the flower to represent the girl's eyes, and the petals are cut-out peices of hair.

1st Marked's Childhood

"'tis a pic of littl' Dran, (a character in a story idea thingie i've got) i had fun with this one, Dran is the trouble-faced kid with the wooden sword, the girl hugging him is Dran's best frieds' little sister, those are his best friends, the twins, the one laughing his head off is the youngest twin, and the older people in the back are the twins' and the girl's parents, he's a blacksmith and she's just an ordinary housewife. Dran plays a lot with the twins since his parents are teachers, his mother teaches the spear and his father the sword. 'Nways, Dran and the twins are constantly annoyed by the littl' girl who often wants to play and be the princess rescued by the brave prince, in other words, Dran. Later on Dran suffers a...something...not telling >=P heh, like a curse, and is forced to live away from normal people..."

I'll follow you

The crowds shouted uncontrollably at the young elf who walked surrounded by two giants and guards.
'Traitor! Traitor!' they spat at his face and some even tried to get at him even as he was taken to the gallows.
A woman remained silent among the crowds, and watched with tears in her eyes as her love was being lead to his death. Images flashed in her head, the first time they met, the nights they had spent, the vows they had made, she was not about to turn her back on him and forget all of that. With a strenght that only strong feelings give, she made her way through the crowd, pushed away anyone who bared her path, knocked down the guards that surronder her love and threw her arms around him. There was a moment of silence, just for a heartbeat, she looked into his eyes and he stared back, cofused and happy at the same time. As one of the giants tried to pull her away, she shouted and screamed said she had a right to be with him, that she didn't care what'd happen to him she'd always be there.
The crowds, not hearing or caring, began to shout, 'Traitors! Traitors! Hang them both!'.
The guards looked to their officer, whom after a moment nodded. The giant that held her by the arm led her to the gallows along with the one they called traitor.
'You don't have to,' he said to her, as one of the guards read the crimes he had never comitted.
She looked at him and smiled, 'I want to...I'll go wherever you'll go.'
As a noose was placed around each of their necks, he could not help but looking at her and feeling angry and glad...
'I love you,' she whispered. Anger dissappeared.
'I love you too.'
The traps beneath their feet were opened, their bodies fell, the noose tightened, the crowd became silent again as they saw the two called traitors die with smiles on their faces.

to have wings,
be able to play with those fluffy things.
It's one of my wildest dreams...'

The one who catches all your tears

Some characters inspired by Hoobastank's song "The Reason"
Colored pencils and ink on paper.
A sequel to the drawing about done in september of the same year.
Wrote a little exerpt for it.
Midnight was coming and she was still there. Laying belly-down on the hard and cold wood of the port, watching the ocean as it sprinkled salty water onto her face. Her head was full of sad, confusing and desperate thoughts. Thoughts that would drive her mad if she did not silence them soon. This was why she was still there, trying to organize those thoughts and ideas that kept dizzing her. If the ocean would take her, there would not be pain anymore, no more saddness, peace would come. She did not know why she kept living. She did not understand why she had not thought of ending all of this before. It didn't matter anymore. She knew that today everything would end.
Seconds before she stood so she could throw herself into the water and free her mind from her torments, something caught her attention. What looked like two dark diamonds had appeared infront of her, under the water. But she knew they weren't diamonds when she saw them blink at her. Those eyes grew bigger as they came closer and out of the water. The girl gasped when she recognized those mysterious eyes. They were the eyes of that creature she had seen the day she had been kidnapped and made a slave. The eyes of the creature that had followed her prisoner boat. The creature that had caught her tears in his palms the night she had cryed misirably, mourning her freedom. The girl had not forgotten that creature that had showed such interest in her and had accompanied her on the darkest day of her life. She now felt a strong affection for those eyes that watched her the same way they had on that night. And she also saw the same curiosity and...it seemed to be...the same affectio. She could only smile weakly, feeling happy because the creature had returned the day she'd be slave for the last time.
'The only two times I've seen you, I've found you crying.' Said the creature with a deep and worried voice. He placed his webbed hand --green and scaley-- under the girl's face and caught a tear that fell from her sad eyes.
'Today will be the last day you see me cry...today is my last day...' She said with a torn smile. As soon as these words left her mouth, the creature took her face in between his hands and brought his cold lips to hers.
It was something that destroyed every thought in the girl's head. Tears began to pour out in big cascades of sour feelings. Her heart pumped strong and fast, full of life. What was this that she felt? The lips of the creature seemed to transmit an unknown joy. His hands --cold and wet-- where the warmest touch she had felt in a long time.
This was the reason why she had kept living. This was what she would at last feel after long years of suffering. This was what she had cryed for countless nights without comfort.
This.
It was this.
It was Love.
